Greetings LWSA Members:
The LWSA Annual Meeting along with the J/80 Fleet 1 and PHRF/Cruising Fleet Awards Dinner will be held at Owl's Nest Golf Club (40 Clubhouse Lane, Campton NH 03223) on Sunday, October 19, 2008. (http://www.owlsnestgolf.com/ for directions.) Prior to the dinner meeting, there will be an 18-hole golf tournament. Enter a four player team under your boat's name in this scramble format event and let's have some fun to close out the season. We're going to tee off at 11:00 am so plan to arrive earlier if you want to hit some balls. The greens fee is $50 per person, including cart fee (normally $80 per player on a Sunday in October). There's a requirement that at least two players in your foursome must have sailed or raced on your boat at least once this summer and no pros or serious ringers are allowed.
In addition to the awards, we will review LWSA accomplishments for the year, our financial position, and elect new board members. Only LWSA members are eligible to vote.
A cash bar cocktail party under the tent will start at 5:30 pm and the LWSA Annual Meeting will begin promptly at 6:30 pm. Dinner will be followed by the awards presentation. I anticipate the event will be over no later than 8:00 pm so everyone can get home early. There are a limited number of overnight accommodations available at Owl's Nest in case you don't want to drive home that same night. Call Ryana Kenney at 726-3076 x 228 for details.
The afternoon and evening promise to be fun filled with a few surprises planned. If you can't make it for the golf tournament, be sure to come for the meeting and the social activities. Dress for this event will be smart casual and dinner tickets will be $30 per person, tax and gratuity included. You will have your choice of Roasted Sea Bass or Herb Crusted Tenderloin.
This will be an excellent opportunity to introduce your spouses and significant others to all those people they only hear you talking about when you get home after a race or a weekend regatta.
Please respond as quickly as you can so that Owl's Nest and the LWSA can plan accordingly and thanks for making 2008 a great year on the water!!!
Regards,
Tom Mullen, LWSA Rear Commodore, J/80 Fleet 1 Captain
