Cruise to Where the Wind Blows
and
Raft-Up at Johnson's Cove
Sunday, June 10, 2007
Although the wind conditions were very light on Sunday, June 24 the Cruise to Where the Wind Blows left Sander's Bay at noon with the sailors seeking the wind. Ten cruising sailboats, one j-boat and one powerboat came out for the event. The skippers were able to make headway under sail past the outside of Welch Island before several boats resorted to the "Iron Genoa" to reach the Johnson's Cove destination or to return to home port.
Haleakala set anchor in Johnson's Cove and was joined by Full Sails, Snapshot, Swept Away and the powerboat Mischief Manager for the raft-up. Caribbean painkiller drinks, creative hors d'oeuvres and great company were enjoyed by the boat crews. The sun was hot which led several boaters to take advantage of the calm, cool, clear water in the cove.
Many thanks go to everyone who showed their support for the second LWSA event of the 2007 season:

Pearson sailboats - MOON SHADOW, SUGAR MOUNTAIN
