2015 PHRF/Weekend ScheduleThe Lake Winnipesaukee Sailing Association (LWSA), in association with the Winnipesaukee Yacht Club (WYC) has put together a great lineup of sailing events for this season. Our goal is to get more boats out on the water, to have fun, compete and enjoying the camaraderie that goes hand-in-hand with sailing on the lake. For those who have not raced, are curious about racing or just want to learn more about sailing on the lake, The WYC, LWSA and Fay's Boat Yard are sponsoring an afternoon seminar on May 16th - "Introduction to Sailboat Racing". This will be held at the WYC Clubhouse and all are welcome. As in the past few years, the LWSA will be sponsoring two types of events this season. One is a racing series for Cruiser/Racer boats and the other is a more relaxed event - the "Take Your Time" series. These are both handicapped (PHRF) events so any size boat can participate and be competitive. The focus is on fun and on trying to minimize the intimidation factor that prevents many from racing. The number of participants have grown over the past few years, and we would love to see you out on the water. In addition, there are a number of fantastic events throughout the season, sponsored by both the WYC and the LWSA. The season kick off is the 3rd Annual "Shakedown for Hospice" sponsored by the WYC on May 25th. Other notable events include the Full Moon sail, the Commodores Cup, The JBT Regatta and the Cold Duck race - all sponsored by the WYC. There will be a "Keels for Meals" charity event sponsored by the LWSA and we will also be bringing back the very popular "Frying Pan" race on the Friday before Labor Day. Notices of Race, Sailing instructions and results will be posted here as they become available throughout the season.
All races are governed by the LWSA-WYC Sailing Instructions.
